Announcing the Chicagoan
Telling the stories that power Chicago
Today felt like the perfect day to launch The Chicagoan. For those not in the know, The Chicagoan was the Windy City’s answer to the New Yorker back in the Jazz Age. While it’s life was short lived, it was a glimpse into what happened in Chicago, the larger than life characters that powered it, and of course a little self directed fun poking.

There’s been alot of bad talk about Chicago, Illinois. Heck I was even a part of it at times. Do you really live in a city if you don’t gripe about something you loathe in it? But today, on 312 day, Chicago’s Day, I’m launching the Chicagoan to do a small part to change that paradigm.
I’m enamored by the stories that make a city come to life, and the people that tell them. The Chicagoan will focus on a few key pillars:
People: Telling the Story of the individuals that choose Chicago, and make this city better by being in it.
Technology: Chicago’s future lies in its ability to bring industry to the table, innovate as a collective, and foster new technologies into commercial pursuits.
Happenings: Chicago is a city with global scale, and so much going on. We’ll be highlighting upcoming events and programs to keep you connected to the pulse of the home of the Billy Goat
The above is a starting point. There’s alot of passion projects I’d like to pursue beyond the written form that would help further the Chicagoan’s goal to educate, inform, active and connect Chicagoan’s and Chicago Enthusiasts.
So, if you’re up to join me on the adventure to shed light on the things that make this city special, hit subscribe, reach out, or respond with ideas.
See you in the next issue Chicago
Cheers,
Brennan Woodruff
